DevOps Engineer
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (AI & Automation) to manage and maintain Linux servers, application deployments, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure operations and production environments. The role also focuses on using AI and automation to improve operational efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, accelerate troubleshooting and modernise DevOps practices.
What you'll actually do
- Manage, patch, and maintain Linux production servers (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL) including routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and SSL renewals.
- Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, containerised workloads (Docker/Kubernetes), and multi-environment deployments.
- Monitor server, application, and database performance, handling backups and disaster recovery plans (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
- Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and maintain operational SOPs.
- Develop Bash/Python automation scripts to eliminate repetitive operational workflows.
- Leverage modern AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Cursor) for automated log analysis, scripting, and infrastructure productivity.
- Support scheduled after-office-hour maintenance and critical production incident escalations when required.
Prerequisites — non-negotiable
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, System Administration or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Hands-on experience managing Linux servers in production environments.
- Experience with Docker, Git and GitLab CI/CD.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Experience performing server maintenance, production deployment and troubleshooting.
- Experience with server monitoring, backup/recovery and basic networking.
- Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Gemini for engineering tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to support scheduled after-office-hour maintenance and production incidents when required.
Qualifications — nice to have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.
- Experience with Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience with Bash or Python scripting.
- Experience with Nginx, Apache, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus or ELK Stack.
- Experience with VMware, Proxmox or other virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of HAProxy, Keepalived or high-availability infrastructure.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Knowledge of AI Agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol), RAG or AI workflow automation.
- Experience working with enterprise or Government systems is an advantage.
